Boards Wales newsletter – April 2025

Opportunities

April has been a bumper month, with more than twenty positions available at different organisations, including Chairs of several NHS trusts and other public bodies, along with some incredibly worthwhile unpaid trustee roles.

This month I reviewed the new Code of Practice for cyber governance. It’s hot off the press, and there are plenty of resources to help Boards in Wales understand their obligations, and to develop new processes and skills to ensure cyber resilience is a part of regular Board governance and risk management.

Thank you!

I have been told that the response to highlighting opportunities here has resulted in a significant increase in applications to a number of organisations. My original driver for promoting board opportunities was to increase Board diversity – these opportunities were never secret, but they did seem to require a level of knowledge to access them. I’m very grateful to everybody who sees the opportunities and applies to be a Board member. You are making a positive difference! ✊🤝🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Supporting Boards Wales

Many thanks to everybody who supports better governance in Wales through sharing the website, or via posts on LinkedIn or Mastodon. I have also set up an Open Collective account if you’d like to make a contribution to the costs of running the website and updating with relevant info 🌟

Last month I was very grateful to receive support from my first donor (apart from my own brother) – you can find out who it was here.
